David Thornhill, managing director of Mitcheldean-based Simplicity – one of the UK’s leading providers of outsourced back office and financial services – is planning to take the plunge by skydiving on Saturday 2nd June in Cirencester for Whizz-Kidz.
He is hoping to raise £1,500 for the charity that works with disabled children and young people around the UK and astonishingly at the same time confront his fear of heights.
Although David doesn’t “enjoy heights”, he is prepared to challenge himself by skydiving for his chosen charity: “I have decided to take an adrenaline rush by taking a skydive and hope to raise money for this great charity. I’m very excited about the challenge and have decided to take the plunge in tandem, which will mean that there is no chance of backing out!”
The skydive is one of several charity challenges David has set out to conquer during the next couple of years. He is planning to take part in a bungee jump later this year and is aiming to sign up for and complete a full marathon by the end of next year.
Whizz-Kidz aims to develop and improve the quality of life of disabled children and young people. The charity provides the children with customised wheelchairs and other mobility equipment, as well as offering help and advice for them and their families, by raising awareness of mobility-related issues through national campaigning.
